Cabo Delgado: Mozambique LNG Project Supports Technical and Vocational Training for 120 Young People

Pemba hosted, this past August, the conclusion of another cycle of technical and vocational training, which benefited 120 young people in areas related to civil construction and industry. The initiative stems from the Memorandum of Understanding signed between TotalEnergies, operator of the Mozambique LNG Project, and the Alberto Cassimo Institute of Professional Training and Labor Studies (IFPELAC).

With this group, the total number of young people trained in Pemba and Palma has now reached 1,114, through scholarships sponsored by the Mozambique LNG Project and its contractors. The project’s objective is to strengthen the Local Content Strategy, with a priority on developing technical skills that enhance employment opportunities for Mozambicans.

The Mozambique LNG Project plans to train 2,500 young people in Cabo Delgado over a five-year period through the CapacitaMoz platform, which brings together training programs dedicated to Mozambican youth.

Investment in technical and vocational training has a multiplying effect, contributing to youth empowerment and to the socio-economic development of the region.
