Local Content Business Workshop reaches Maputo SMEs

Seminario de Negocios, Maputo

Maputo, March 17, 2026 – The Mozambique LNG project, operated by TotalEnergies EP Mozambique Area 1, Lda (TEPMA1), held today a business workshop in the City of Maputo to present to local suppliers contracting opportunities for the next three to nine months. This initiative comes after similar events held in Palma and Pemba with the aim of maximizing local content within the Project.

During the seminar, which brought together about 300 business leaders and representatives of private-sector associations, TEPMA1 together with CCS JV and MTV – the two consortia contracted for engineering, procurement and construction under the Mozambique LNG project – and their main subcontractors, presented a range of contracting opportunities in the areas of Construction and Engineering, Health, Safety and Environment, Emergency Services, Logistics and Transport, Office Services, Information and Communication Technologies, General Supplies, Facilities Management and Catering, and Marine and Offshore services.

On the occasion, additional information was shared regarding procurement procedures and health, safety and environment (HSE) requirements, with the objective of strengthening the preparedness of national companies to integrate the Mozambique LNG project’s value chain in the coming months.

Nicolas Cambefort, Director of Mozambique LNG project, stated: “We are committed to contributing to the sustainable development of Mozambique, and we firmly believe that local content is central to achieving this goal. Following the full resumption of the Mozambique LNG project last January, we have not only restarted our local content workshops but also reaffirmed our dedication through concrete actions: USD 4.5 billion committed to Mozambican companies during the construction phase and the employment of 7,000 Mozambicans at peak construction. The development of local suppliers remains strategic for the Mozambique LNG project, as the procurement of goods and services locally strengthens the country’s business fabric, creates jobs and acts as a powerful catalyst for inclusive economic growth.”
